Content guidelines
These guidelines set out what may not be published on PRWire, how we review and remove content, and who is responsible for it. They form part of our Terms and Conditions.
Prohibited content
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These Content Guidelines apply to every press release and all material submitted to PRWire, including text, headlines, images, logos, videos, links, quotes, contact details and files (“Content”). They form part of our Terms and Conditions. By submitting Content, you confirm that you have read and accept them. Practical advice on preparing a release is in our Submission guidelines.

- could expose PRWire, its partners or readers to legal liability or reputational harm.
2. Review and removal
Every submission is reviewed by the PRWire team before publication. Our review checks Content against these guidelines; it is not a verification of facts, a legal review or an endorsement, and approval does not mean that the Content is accurate, lawful or free of third-party rights.
PRWire may, at its sole discretion and at any time, with or without notice:
- refuse, reject or decline to publish any Content;
- unpublish, remove or disable access to Content already published, including after a complaint or if we become aware that it may breach these guidelines, our Terms or the law;
- request changes, documents or proof of identity, authority or rights before publishing or keeping Content online;
- suspend or close the account of any user who breaches these guidelines, repeatedly or seriously.
Where we suspect Content may be unlawful, we may investigate, keep relevant records and cooperate with, or report it to, the competent authorities where required or permitted by law. Refunds for rejected or removed Content are handled only as set out in our Refund Policy.
3. Your responsibility
The person or organisation that submits Content is solely responsible for it. By submitting Content, you confirm that:
- you are authorised to publish it on behalf of the organisation named in the release;
- the Content is accurate, not misleading, and complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including advertising, consumer protection, financial, health and data protection rules;
- you own, or have obtained all licences and permissions needed for, the text, images, logos, trademarks, quotes and other material it contains, including the consent of any person who is named, quoted or pictured;
- the media contact details you provide are correct and the people named have agreed to be contacted.
4. PRWire’s role
PRWire is a press release distribution platform. We host, publish, republish, aggregate, syndicate and share Content supplied by our users and partners through the PRWire newsroom, RSS feeds, email alerts and partner networks. PRWire does not write, own, verify or endorse that Content, and the views and claims in a press release are solely those of the issuing organisation.
Once published, Content may be picked up, republished or archived by journalists, media outlets, partners, aggregators and search engines that PRWire does not control. Removing Content from PRWire does not guarantee its removal from third-party websites. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PRWire is not liable for Content supplied by users or for its use by third parties.
5. Licence to publish
You keep ownership of your Content. By submitting it, you grant PRWire a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, publish, display, distribute and syndicate the Content, and to allow our partners and the media to do so, for the purpose of distributing and archiving your press release.
6. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PRWire, its owners, staff and partners from any claims, losses, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your Content or from your breach of these guidelines or our Terms.
7. Report content
If you believe a release on PRWire breaches these guidelines, infringes your rights or is unlawful, email support@prwire.me with the link to the release, the reason for your report and your contact details. For copyright or trademark complaints, please also identify the protected work and confirm that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We review every report and may remove Content while we look into it.
8. Changes
We may update these guidelines at any time. The current version is always published on this page, and continued use of PRWire after a change means you accept the updated guidelines.
